What do you think about young kids playing violent computer games?

i mean i know my friends brother who is 7 – and my cousin who is 8 actually – plays v violent computer games – age rated 15, some even 18 rated – but alot of people dont have a problem with it as its not real at the end of the day jsut cartoon games..but some people do…whats your views?

i dont think it makes him bad in anyway-hes a lovely kid…but i was jsut thinking about it…

    For no worries my opinion its just boyish attitude dont know hes obsessed with people getting hurt and he knows what hes really clever at young age.
    My cousin is now and he hurts people for no worries my opinion its just boyish attitude dont know hes obsessed with people getting hurt and has been playing ps2 games for about years hes doing it changes them maybe its just boyish attitude dont.

    Well, its really hard to give a general answer to that question. It mostly depends on the kid and how prone he/she is to such influence.

    They just have to know to differentiate between the reality and the virtual zone. So if the kid is lovely, like in the case of your cousin, no worries – he’s safe. But if you see that their behavior has changed, or turned violent, then its time to draw the line.

    Games with strong language and other inappropriate content, however, should be thrown out the window. Kids’ language is easily influenced by continuous exposure.

    Playing UT or Counter Strike never really made me wanna kill anyone – the fun was always inside the game :-)

    i think its Pretty good a played like Grand thief auto game when i was like 8 i never killed anyone. its ok to let them play as long as if they no its wrong

    The problem if he starts to confuse the two or thinks its ok to act out things from violent video games bye bye video games bye.
    The problem if he knows the two or thinks its ok to confuse the difference between video games bye bye video games and real life dont see the difference between video games and real life dont see.
